Duckwrth has made serious waves since his song ‘Michuul’ reached worldwide, far beyond his South Central stomping grounds. His career kicked off around 2012 when he started figuring out his sound, and through years of perseverance he settled on a unique style of music toeing the line between funk and hip hop.
“There was a moment where I was gonna just say ‘fuck it’ and do graphic design, advertisements and shit, garment design,” he says. “Just with the state of where hip-hop was, I was over it. And just the fact that it was such a struggle because I been making awesome, creative music, but it wasn’t hitting the way it should.“
We’re so glad he didn’t give up!

London based pop-punk suit “HMLTD” is gaining tons of attention from their glam aesthetic and their art-driven approach to music and performance – it’s been one of the key selling points the band, much-hyped for their sparkly take on guitar music – a genre which, it has to be said, has been gagging for a dose of glitter dust for years. “Heavy riffs and screamed vocals punctuate most of their tracks, but they also rope in surf rock, ska, trap (yes, really) and EDM. They’re experimental but poppy enough to be a major label’s wet dream– proven by a recently-inked deal with Sony – and have been covered by everyone from Dazedto NME and The Observer.” (Read more on Noisey)

Helena Deland + Buzzy Lee
Montreal-based singer songwriter Helena Deland will be supporting her upcoming EP ‘From the Series of Songs “Altogether Unaccompanied” Vol. III & IV’ which is out October 16. Her single “Claudion” is a “sleek affair with soft, pulsating synths, and her smokey voice builds up to a hook that dazzles like a handful of glitter in the air.” (via The Fader)
Buzzy Lee is Sasha Spielberg’s first solo project – her EP “Facepaint” is produced by college-friend and electronic composer Nicolas Jaar. Her warm down-tempo electronic style & airy vocals are perfect to listen to this fall. We’re excited to see where she lands. Her newest single “Better” is a must-listen!
Catch them both co-headlining The Echo on (Sat) December 15th. Tickets here.
