How does Xavier Omär want to be remembered? As a risk taker. A classic voice. An artist who blurs musical lines. A fearless dreamer. And with these big goals, the singer-songwriter isn't wasting any time. His debut studio album, Bonfire, released on 09/02/14 followed by his EP with Sango (Soulection) titled Hours Spent Loving You, and singles Blind Man & Hesitate.
Xavier Omär takes pride in his songwriting ability and is most excited by the reward of evoking specific feelings in his listeners with his music. He draws inspiration from artists of all genres, including James Blake, Arcade Fire, Kanye West, Mumford & Sons, John Legend, Frank Ocean, The Beatles, and Sam Smith.
Xavier Omär grew up as a military brat, moving across the country and as far as Japan, but he claims Georgia as home. Music balanced out the highly structured lifestyle of his military family, as his mother and siblings sang and played drums and piano, and his father was a writer, producer and the minister of music at church. He wrote and produced his first song at 12 years old, recording it in his basement on a 4 track tape recorder. A brief period of discouragement was tackled when Xavier Omär decided to audition for American Idol Season 11 in Houston, TX. Not making it past the preliminary judging round gave him the determination to save up to buy equipment and begin recording music again—so add "proving American Idol wrong" to his list of goals. In 2012, he hit the ground running with his solo career and hasn't stopped since.
22 year old R&B singer and songwriter, Avalon Young , was born in San Diego, California and now resides in Los Angeles. Young's relevant writings and artistry are relatable to her fan base, which she attributes her success as an independent artist. Her voice has been described by Billboard as "dreamy" and her performances "have the audience in the palm of her hand".
With the anticipated August 30th release of her album Shift, Young charged the iTunes R&B Album Charts to #2. A gift for "entertaining" friends and family, Young began singing at the age of 7 when her father gave her an acoustic guitar. Self taught to play the guitar and ukulele, Young would sing and post video covers of her favorite artists. By the age of 15, Avalon began writing and performing and became a regular at the San Diego coffee houses and all ages venues.
Graduating High School in 2012, Young was accepted into the Journalism Program at San Diego State University. A second semester freshman, she quickly realized her love for writing was directly related to music. Leaving college in 2013 to pursue a career in music, she released her first EP, acoustic and self-written.
Avalon spent the next year writing and produced a stripped down acoustic and mixed demo CD showcasing her songwriting and pitch perfect vocals. This demo, was well received by major record labels in Los Angeles, and rendered new relationships and writing opportunities. Her follow-up EP Redline, also written by Young, was produced by Jesse Barrera and released on iTunes in January 2015, gaining her visibility and popularity as an R&B emerging artist.
After being dismissed during the initial American Idol audition in 2010 at the age of 16, Young was scouted for a second audition by the shows producers in 2015 due to the popularity of her YouTube Channel. While hesitant, family and friends encouraged Young to take the audition. After her successful San Francisco performance, Avalon Young became the show's organic R&B singer and American Idols Farewell Season Top 8 Finalist.
Since April 2016, Young accompanied both Jeff Bernat and Gnash on tour and she is currently making appearances across the country, performing her original music.
