Along for the Ride
ALONG FOR THE RIDE explores the highs, lows and phoenix-like ascension of iconic Hollywood maverick Dennis Hopper - as seen through the eyes of his longtime right-hand man and devoted friend, Satya de la Manitou. Nick Ebeling’s debut feature film chronicles the unlikely duo's incredible 40+ year journey and enduring bond, as intimately complex as Hopper's own legendary career.
Featuring: David Lynch, Wim Wenders, Ed Ruscha, Frank Gehry, Russ Tamblyn, Dean Stockwell, Linda Manz, Michael Madsen, Dwight Yoakam, and Damon Albarn & Jamie Hewlett of Gorillaz.

Hat & Beard is a Los Angeles-based print collective, publishing think tank, and production house all in one.
With our book imprint, Hat & Beard Press, we create original, illustrated nonfiction books of pop-cultural and historical significance that draw on existing cult audiences. As a production house, we produce artist monographs in conjunction with art galleries, museums, and artists themselves. Hat & Beard also champions the redesign and reissue of classic visual culture titles worth a second look.
Combining modern targeted marketing efforts and old-fashioned craftsmanship, Hat & Beard believes in the power of print media, even— and especially—in our post-digital age, when the media is constantly screaming for attention.
As a perk to our most dedicated readers, we have initiated a book club model in which subscribers will receive first edition books four or six times a year paired with limited edition, subscriber-only merchandise.
We hope you’ll join our movement to restore financial viability and sanity to book publishing, our beloved and noble profession.
