Frances Marquez
I am Frances Marquez, and I am running for City Council to fight for safer neighborhoods, accountability at City Hall, and opportunities for our youth and seniors.

My family has called Cypress home since 1974. This community provided me with quality schools such as Damron and Vessels Elementary, Lexington Junior High, and Cypress High School, enabling me to earn my Bachelor’s Degree from UCLA, and a Masters and Doctorate from Claremont Graduate University.

I have worked in government advocating for better access to health and child care for our veterans. I helped secure funding for the STARBASE program at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base, which encourages fifth-grade students to study science and math.

I am a college professor teaching government and mentoring deaf and hard of hearing students.

As your City Councilmember, I will tirelessly advocate for our residents. I will focus on improving neighborhood safety and bring accountability to City Hall.

As a daughter of Cypress, I want to ensure that our youth have every opportunity like I did to build a foundation for a successful life and that our seniors enjoy the quality of life they’ve earned.

I ask for your vote.
