Ceremony (East Coast)
Amazing nite of shoegaze for you with the long-awaited West Coast arrival of East Coast CEREMONY! CEREMONY EAST COAST is love songs with distortion, lofi postpunk, raw shoegaze with reckless abandon to the psyche. Pick the description you like, take it all or come up with your own! WHAT YOU GET: Distortion to the highest frequency. Feedback and white noise. Vocals at a whisper. Intentionally. Please keep that in mind when you come to one of our shows or book us. We are loud. Enjoy!
BIZOU is the sum of it's parts: propulsive post-punk bass + wall of sheeny shoegaze guitars + shifting scales of synths + the propulsive rhythms of darkwave -- all fused together with dreamy vocals ala' Curve, Cranes, Garbage or PJ Harvey... (And this should come as no surprise, given the pedigree of the band -- comprised of members of The Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, Tennis System, Wax Idols, Jennie Vee, and Light FM.)
Ethereal vocals, blaring Shoegaze guitars mixed with swirling synth atmospheres, and propulsive rock and roll drumming is NO SWOON. Based in Brooklyn, Ny and comprised of Tasha Abbott, Zack Nestel-Patt, and Ricky Petraglia, No Swoon released their debut EP summer 2018. Their sound is underlined by an attention to detail and an ear for production. They are hard to pin down as just Shoegaze, just Dream-pop, or just 80s influenced New Wave, but rather exist somewhere in between.
SPRAIN is the artistic vessel of collaborators and friends Alex Kent, April Gerloff, and Aidan Gould. Combining the glacial tempos and sparse arrangements of slowcore, aggression of noise rock, and winding compositions of post rock, Sprain often creates jarring and unsettling music. Vocals are muffled and hushed under dissonant guitar lines, drums crawl along, and bass barely holds the fragile compositions together. These compositions, often unpredictable, can result in anything from noise-guitar freakouts, to crushing doom climaxes, to tender ambience. Through varied influences and passionate performances, Sprain offers a uniquely haunting take on indie rock music.
