Glacial Palms is an indie dream-pop band based out of Los Angeles that was formed in 2012 by siblings Rafael, Gabe and Fiona Cansino, under the name 'Sikemor'. After many creative evolutions, they were joined in early 2018 by Shane Graham, Andrew Gleason and Bertrand Vellky.
Growing up in a musical household with a mother who was an opera singer, and a father who played classical guitar, Sikemor's sound developed from a diverse range of influences. Characterized by layers of dreamy harmonies, expansive, rhythmic guitar lines, and nuanced, driving drums, their music draws parallels to artists such as Radiohead, Grizzly Bear and Local Natives.
Glacial Palms recently released “Leg To Stand On,” the first single off of their upcoming EP. Grimy Goods said it “channel[s] the gentle sounds of Grizzly Bear with echoing vocals that reverberate freely, creating an experience that could be described as holy.” They have played venues in LA such as The Echo, The Hi Hat, The Satellite and Hotel Cafe. This August they performed as part of Moosecat Recording's showcase at Echo Park Rising.
