The Love Song

Los Angeles, CA

This event is 21 and over

C-Minus experienced his first gig at the Virginia Avenue Elementary dance on the eve of his thirteenth birthday. (It was on that night, that he realized exactly what he wanted to do for the rest of his life). Who would have ever thought that “moving the crowd” at all of those high school weekend parties & weekday “ditching parties” would not only become his “day job” but would create a love that would take him all over the globe.
C- kicked off his local career on the turntables right after that dynamic preteen school dance anointing. He would go on to rock parties and functions locally and would soon team up with future Fantastik 4our representative and fellow Bakersfield resident Mr. Choc. Together, the newly formed DJ duo of C- and Mr. Choc bubbled and due to their successful local campaign, they eventually were asked to replace, The Baka Boyz at KKXX once they left to take positions at Power 106 from KKXX PD Steve Wall.
The move to on air mixing at their local KKXX eventually landed the duo a coveted spot on LA’s own, powerhouse radio station, Power 106. C-Minus and Choc took over the closing hour of The Baka Boyz popular, “Friday Nite Flavaz” show and then broadened their crew, bringing in Fuzzy (Fantabulous) and DJ E-Man becoming the “Radio Hit Squad”. Another crew shift happened and with the additions of J.Rocc (of the World Famous Beat Junkies) and Truly OdD (of the Heavyweights), the Fantastik 4our was born! Mr. Choc, C-Minus, J.Rocc & Truly OdD as the Fantastik 4our held down Friday Night Flavas from 1998 until its end in 2006 .
C-Minus’s radio show “Channel Zero” with hosts DJ Lethal of House of Pain/Limp Bizkit fame and DJ Homicide from Sugar Ray, was one of the first of its kind on popular urban driven radio. The playlists and mixes were phenomenal and they all brought quality DJing and knowledge of many genres of music to the forefront of the show.
