The Smoker's Club
The Smoker’s Club seed was planted in the Summer of 2010 by a group of friends seeking to share their love of weed culture and music with the rest of the world. While putting one in the air, the idea to create an event where everyone could celebrate their favorite hobby was formed and The Smoker’s Club was created.
Founding members of The Club include Cinematic Music Group President, Jonny Shipes, Shiest Bubz, founder of The Legendary Purple City, GFCnewyork founder Steve-O and Harlem’s own Bud Guru, Smoke DZA.
In March 2010, a one-off Smoker's Club show was put on at SXSW. The show was headlined by a slew of hip-hop’s budding superstars like Wiz Khalifa, Dom Kennedy, Curren$y, Black Hippy, Smoke DZA, Big K.R.I.T., Devin The Dude, and more. With the venue selling out, it became clear that the fans' love for good music and good vibes were inline with The Club's vision and later that year a 24-city tour kicked off. By the time the tour hit the west coast, the crowds jumped from 400 fans to over 1,200 concert-goers. Founder Jonny Shipes explains, “I grew up smokin' weed and listening to music period!. I don't recall doin' much else ha!. There was the “Up In Smoke Tour” which I used to go to when I was a kid. I loved Snoop, Cypress, Redman etc. Now, you have us and we’re just an extension of what we grew up on. We’re basically taking our lifestyle on the road to party with our fans Smokin N' Jokin' feel me?.”
Fast forward to 2017, The Smoker's Club wrapped up its 5th US tour late 2014 and with the overwhelming success of the brand, has launched a clothing line, record label and is currently working on a full line of high end smoking products for the connoisseur. The club has become a steady growing family of music enthusiasts that love to Smoke N' Joke. Bring ya’ lungs with ya’! GoodTalk.
