Spaceland Presents and Restless Nights are excited to announce Substance, a special two-night event featuring the all the best of electronic, post-punk and dark wave acts at the beautiful Los Angeles Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles on November 1-2.
Too intimate to be a festival but much more than just a live show, Substance is a multi-sensory, multi-day curated concert event the likes of which Los Angeles has never seen before. With a sonic and visual exploration of the various elements that incorporate both modern and classic music held together by the various elements of analog synthesizers and digital samplers, pulsating drum machines and angular jangly guitars.
The lineup is a tightly curated sonic oasis featuring synth legend Gary Numan headlining the first night on Friday, Nov. 1. His set will be in celebration of his expansive 40-year career in music. He will be joined by Adult, Xeno & Oaklander and Kanga.
”In September 1979 I began my first ever tour around the UK. I’ll be celebrating the 40 years of life, career and touring that have unfolded since then this Sep/Oct with the (R)evolution Tour,” said Numan.
The second night features electro-pop savant John Maus, as well as Boy Harsher, Black Marble, A Place to Bury Strangers, Lust For Youth, HTRK, Crack Cloud, Psyche, Ritual Howls, Odonis Odonis, Klack, Kontravoid, Void Vision, Miserable and Second Still.
Substance is in partnership with Das Bunker, Part Time Punks, Sex Cells, and Revolver.
