Big changes have been made to their upcoming annual Cloak & Dagger Festival, for which we have all the details here. First, due to extremely high ticket demand, the location of the event has now been moved from the State Theatre to the Los Angeles Theatre, allowing more people to experience the 11-hour event in its fullest, going from 3 pm to 2 am.
In moving locations, C&D have added an additional stage and more DJs and bands Christian Death, TR/ST, Drab Majesty and SRSQ. They join She Wants Revenge, The Faint, HEALTH, Boy Harsher, Tamaryn, Boan, Black Mare, Body of Light, and Death Bells. As for the DJ lineup, DJ Adam 12 (She Wants Revenge), Rev. John (Das Bunker), John Fryer (NIN/This Mortal Coil), plus Baby Magick (Cloak & Dagger), Brian T and Remy Marc (Restless Nites), Omar Perez, Andi Harriman, Gina Kuhn, Paige Emery, and Olive Kimoto will be performing.
“The venue is absolutely the most beautiful theater in Los Angeles and we’ve been holding out for it, so when a date opened up, we jumped at the chance.” says co-curator DJ Adam 12.
Unfortunately, headliners DAF have had to pull out of the event, due to visa issues, but for those who were looking forward to seeing them, C&D, Restless Nights, and Spaceland Present have booked them for a solo-gig on March 9th. Their official statement is below.
“For those who purchased tickets hoping to see the German dark synth duo’s only US performance ever, we are pleased to announce that Spaceland Presents, Restless Nites, and Cloak & Dagger have lined up another headline show for them on March 9 at the Regent Theatre. We’re offering all ticket holders a special pre-sale discount during the 24 hour period starting today Thursday, October 25 at 11 AM PST ending on Friday, October 26 at 11 AM PST.”
Cloak & Dagger’s immersive experience will be curated by award-winning writer/director Annie Lesser, an expert in interactive performances. She will be joined by visual designer Adam LaBay, who most recently created the lighting and laser effects for Childish Gambino’s acclaimed Saturday Night Live performance. Together, they will craft the subliminally enchanting environment that is the trademark of Cloak & Dagger’s weekly parties. Without revealing specifics, immersive experiences being planned include a repeating site-specific performance art piece and a performer in the VIP section creating a private performance for interactive VIPs. Guests should expect other pop-up surprise performances along with a series of art installations featuring clues like a scavenger hunt with a prize at the end.
