Nashville’s sludgiest jam band All Them Witches carry over their genre-blending brilliance to video for their latest single, announce US and world tour dates, including a show at Echoplex on November 9th. (Tickets here)
The Nashville four-piece are endowing “Diamond” with a visual aid doubling down on the eerie energy of the six-minute ripper, intercutting ominous horror-film B-roll in German-expressionist black-and-white with acid-tinged giallo footage of the band performing the track. According to vocalist Charles Michael Parks, Jr., this visual bipolarity was fully intentional:
“I wanted ‘Diamond’ to show two sides of a common problem I have with my ego and personality—the first being content with where I am, physically and mentally, and the second being a constant drive to leave, to go anywhere other than where I am, to let my scattered thoughts draw me to a comparable scattered lifestyle. Both personalities can and do appear at random, and both can take the wheel and lead me anywhere.”
