Without a distinguishable understanding of the pop and intensity, a silent video of a Lemuria show would appear to be that of a blistering hardcore trio. To the viewers surprise, turning the audio on they'd find an intricate indie-pop trio.
Lemuria might not sound like they are from Buffalo, NY, but the band was proudly birthed there, following the legacy of an oddly eclectic, if not eccentric, music scene. When you loosen your ears to the sugary indie-pop, you'll discover discordant notes, odd time signatures, and brutal riffs creating menacing yet catchy music.
Since the breakup of Jersey pop punk legends The Ergs!, New Brunswick native Mikey Erg has been a regular face at shows as well as constantly stayed active in music. Since the end of The Ergs!, he has toured many continents drumming for, singing, writing and playing guitar for Star Fucking Hipsters, The Dopamines, The Unlovables, Dirtbike Annie, Worriers, and Houseboat just to name a few amongst the plethora. In addition to all of that, he remains a very active solo artist on Vinnie Fiorello from Less Than Jake's label Paper + Plastik Records.
