Part Time Punks
PART TIME PUNKS is a club that takes over noted Echo Park live music venue, The Echo on 1822 Sunset, every Sunday night. The night focuses heavily on DIY and Indie vinyl coming out of the U.S., UK and Europe from 1977 to the present: Punk, Post-Punk, Synth-Punk, Synthpop, Minimal Synth, Dark/Cold/Minimal Wave, NDW, Industrial, New Wave, No Wave, C86, Indiepop, Twee, Shoegaze, Baggy and even Krautrock…
Haunted Horses is an industrial-punk duo hailing from Seattle, WA. Their sound is thunderous and chaotic, utilizing wall of noise techniques through an onslaught of keys, guitars and drums. Myke Pelly's off kilter drumming and Colin Dawson's architectural noise structures create jittery post-punk that is both upbeat and gloomy. The bleak vocals are persistently ominous in a seductive way, conjuring up the nightmarish aura of a dissonant horror-film soundtrack. The band has not lost control of their uncompromising industrial vibes since their revival in 2017, continuing to embrace rock experimentation and electronic layers.
In July of 2017, Haunted Horses released "COME" via Cercle Social Records, a five-track EP that ushered in a new era for the band. It's uncompromising noise-rock, driving and persistently ominous in a rapturous way. Seattle's KEXP states, "The band has never sounded more brutal or more in-sync than they do with this release, pushing their sound to their darkest recesses and embracing art-rock experimentation."
Keys/Guitar/Vox: Colin Dawson
