Kelvin Boakye, known by his stage name Serious Klein (born 6th June 1991), is an English rapping MC based in Germany with Ghanaian roots.
Serious started his musical career when he was 12 years old, then known as "Key Bee".
He released his first Mixtape "The Rolling Stone" (2010), with DSTY records.
The official name change to Serious Klein , came with the release of his EP "The Serious Outlook" (2012, DSTY Records),which was acknowledged locally. His following EP "The Introduction" , released in 2015 (DSTY Records), gained more of an international recognition.
Serious is part of the independent collective/label "Family tree", which is set to release his highly anticipated album "States", expected this Summer. "Mood Song" which will be on the upcoming album was already released in Summer 2015.
In 2015, Serious came into contact with multiple international artists like Denzel Curry and Mick Jenkins.
He joined the Underachievers on a couple of dates of their Europe tour (March 2016), as their support act.
The collective/label "Family tree/555" was founded by Serious, his manager Teddy Sarpong, one of his main producers "Rascal" and his DJ Daysontwistemup.
It has a variety of entertainers, producers, photographers, videographers and artists.
His sound which he describes as "art rap", is deeply influenced by genres like soul, funk and trap. And various artists raging from 2Pac to Luther Vandross.
