Wires On Fire
On March 14th Wires On Fire celebrate the 15 year anniversary of their 2004 debut EP "Homewrecker" (on the now defunct Buddyhead Records) with a show at The Echo. The band will play the EP in its entirety with original drummer Dash Hutton, as well an assortment of other staples from the WOF catalog with Darren Weiss on drums.
Recorded the summer after the band graduated from high school "Homewrecker" showcased WOF's brand of chaotic, technical, dark, and often melodic punk rock. Adopting a "say yes to every show” policy, the band sharpened their live set and quickly gained acclaim both locally and nationally.
During the rest of their tenure as an active band, Wires On Fire released 2006’s bombastic Self-Titled full-length in addition to various split, single, and compilation appearances as they fervently toured the United States.
While writing music for a second record in 2007, bassist Michael Shuman was recruited by Queens Of The Stone Age and has been a member of the band ever since. Wire On Fire spent time recording during Michael's touring breaks that year, and ended up with well over enough material for a new album.
While two singles have been released ("Annie Carr" b/w "Mask" in 2008 and "Born Dirty To Last Forever" b/w "Up Your Sleeve" in 2012), the rest of the material from the 2007 sessions has remained unheard. Wires On Fire promise to release the rest of this collection later this year.
Over the years members of Wires On Fire have gone on to play in Sparks, HAIM, and GIRLS in addition to forming the bands Mini Mansions, PAPA, Slang Chickens, and Junk to name a few.
