Associated with glistening textures, melancholy melodies, captivating rhythms and sensitive lyricism, Xkylar is the product of singer/songwriter Skylar Steinberg. Her production style lends itself to versatility, drawing inspiration from Rnb, Alt Pop, House and Soul. Using music as an escape, she hopes to transport listeners to a thought provoking dream state. Inspired by people and the concept of love, her songs display an evocative sense of vulnerability and emotion, that will both compel and comfort you.
From a young age Skylar always felt compelled towards music and writing poetry. She eventually went USC to study Health. Upon enrolling she used art and songwriting as a coping mechanism for the stress and pressures of entering college, sneaking away into the practice rooms at night and learning photoshop while studying for Organic Chemistry. During her time in school she performed frequently around LA with friends Daria Black and R E L, including the world famous Troubadour, opening for Grace Van Der Wall, and amassed an engaged online following via instagram, through her unique artistic posts. Producing her single "Why don't we dance more?" and several others led to thousands of streams online as well as some pivotal collaborations with CRWN + Jynjo (who produced soulmate). Continuously releasing singles on soundcloud, "emotional" is her first project to be released other platforms and aims at discussing the complexities of emotion and love.
Ex Architects are a drippy dreamy indie rock/pop band from Los Angeles whose music can only be described as looming, powerful and seductive. They draw influences from British and US alt rock artists like Radiohead, Phantogram, Glass Animals, and Lana Del Rey. The group started as a duo consisting of songwriters Michael Glines and Faye Nightingale, with Glines on guitars and Nightingale on keys, and both alternating on lead vocals. In early 2018 they were featured on Under the Tracks’s YouTube channel performing their song “Idk” live in the Under the Tracks studio. Since the release of that video, Ex Architects have been receiving constant invitations to perform at different venues all over Los Angeles, and have performed at the Study (Hollywood), Stories (Echo Park), El Cid (Silverlake), and Harvard and Stone (East Hollywood) to name a few. They incorporated bassist Alex Rushka (The New Hippies) and drummer Katin Burns (Albion Sun) for their first show at the Study in Hollywood and have been playing as a four-piece since. The band are set to release their debut single in early 2019 and then an EP in the summer.
Ashby Green is a British rock duo. They write and sing radio ready songs with powerful melodies backed by Americana infused guitars and have drawn comparisons to Paolo Nutini, James Bay and Hozier. They have both, individually, had their music used in TV and film with major radio support in both the US and the UK. Now that they’re collaborating together it can only mean that an exciting and promising future lies ahead. They’re currently recording their debut EP which they will be releasing this summer.
