MISSION

Painted Brain creates lasting community-based solutions to mental health challenges and the impact of social injustice through arts, advocacy, and enterprise.

BEGAN

In reaction to the trend Dave was seeing among his young adult clients at an outpatient mental health center, he started the art group that became Painted Brain in 2005.

LOCATION

Our dynamic community happens at our headquarters now located at 5980 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles 90035. We have 1500 sq. ft. of community space open 3 days a week to an average of 60 individuals a month with just 10 part-time staff and Social Work and Occupational Therapy interns.
Dankrupt
Dankrupt
Dankrupt is CALIROCK. A fresh mix of music and culture that the band embodies from their surroundings in Southern California. Effortlessly blending genres from Funk to Hard Rock, Reggae to Hip Hop, the band embodies influences such as Rage Against the Machine, Sublime & Red Hot Chili Peppers. This is the beginning of a lifetime of vibes spread through music.
Glacial Palms
Glacial Palms
Glacial Palms is an indie dream-pop band based out of Los Angeles that was formed in 2012 by siblings Rafael, Gabe and Fiona Cansino, under the name 'Sikemor'. After many creative evolutions, they were joined in early 2018 by Shane Graham, Andrew Gleason and Bertrand Vellky.

Growing up in a musical household with a mother who was an opera singer, and a father who played classical guitar, Glacial Palms sound developed from a diverse range of influences. Characterized by layers of dreamy harmonies, expansive rhythmic guitar lines, and nuanced driving drums, their music draws parallels to artists such as Radiohead, Grizzly Bear and Local Natives.

Glacial Palms recently released “Leg To Stand On,” the first single off of their upcoming EP. Grimy Goods said it “channel[s] the gentle sounds of Grizzly Bear with echoing vocals that reverberate freely, creating an experience that could be described as holy.” They have played venues in LA such as The Echo, The Hi Hat, The Satellite and Hotel Cafe. This August they performed as part of Moosecat Recording's showcase at Echo Park Rising.
