As we welcome the new year, we reach for the closest pens and scraps of paper in sight to jot down our New Year’s resolutions, hoping we’ll actually fulfill them this time around. Our suggestion for your list? Listen to more live music! The Love Song Bar serves beer, wine, cocktails, good energy, and good tunes. We’ve highlighted some of our favorite acts coming to The Love Song Bar for you this February below, but you can check out the full schedule here:
As a reminder, all shows are FREE and 21+.
Champagne Jam (1/28) – Ben Reddell Band and Professor Colombo: This Sunday January 28th, we’ve gotten together with our friends at Grand Ole Echo for an afternoon/early evening of $14 bottomless mimosas and a 4 PM show. Taking the stage will be Ben Reddell and his band Professor Colombo. Dancing is HIGHLY encouraged, especially after bottomless round 2.
David Dondero (1/30) : We are so excited to have legendary songwriter and guitarist David Dondero with us on Tuesday January 30th. NPR’s, All Songs Considered, named Dondero one of the “best American songswriters alongside Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and Tom Waits”. Dondero was also the frontman and guitarist of the punk/hardcore band, Sunbrain and drummer for the band, This Bike is a Pipe Bomb. He will be joined by Melaena Cadiz, you DEFINITELY don’t want to miss this.
Lover’s Quarrel Comedy Show (1/31): Lover’s Quarrel Comedy Show is back on January 31st and February 28th. What is Lover’s Quarrel exactly? Two comics take sides of an argument someone had with their partner. The audience then votes on who won the Quarrel.
Who’s side will you choose?
Brandon Graham (2/4) : Brandon Graham from Dream Phases is doing two solo/paired down shows. Graham’s musical style is a blend of 60s/70s rock, country/soul, all coming together to create a modern noise pop. With influences from Elliott Smith, Syd Barrett, and Neil Young, Graham’s set is a show you don’t want to miss. Catch him with Julian Porte from Levitation Room on February 4th and February 11th with Joel Jerome.
Entrance (February Monday Night Residency): We’re so excited about this one. Psychedelic rock band, Entrance, is doing a Monday Night Residency all throughout February with some super awesome guests. Not only that, Guy Blakeslee of Entrance has been transforming The Love Song Bar into a dream world space of his own. Blakelee will be curating an installation/show each week while being joined by his buds: RF Shannon (2/5), Lael Neale (2/12), Anna St. Louis (2/19), and Matt Baldwin (2/26) with guest DJs Casual Feelings, Mr. Pharmacist, Derek James, and Jessica Dean Harrison.
Killer Country (2/28) : Killer Country is a supergroup of Brian Whelan and Nicole Eva Emery. Brian Whelan is sometimes known for once being side man to Dwlight Yoakam as well as many more; he is a force all his own in the Los Angeles Americana scene. Whelan will be performing twice at The Love Song Bar, once on his own bill with his friend Leann Skoda (3/4) and again with supergroup, Killer Country.
