The 69 Eyes are back to tour the U.S. for the first time in 10 years. Jyrki 69, lead singer of The 69 Eyes, has talked about their long-awaited return. These last 10 years Jykri 69 has wasted no time as he has become an ambassador for UNICEF, a non-profit organization dedicated to protect children and their rights, and receiving two masters in Chemistry and Business. Before commencing the celebration of 30 years as a band, they want to close this last chapter before their anniversary with a tour.
According to the singer, the rise of EDM has made a fall in rock ‘n’ roll as there has been a shift with popular music in the states and the trend of EDM music and celebrity DJs becoming the main focus. Jykri 69 wants to take it back to a simpler time without the flashy lights and over-the-top fireworks. He wants the tour to be a traditional rock performance and make it just about the music.
