Pinky Pinky encapsulates what it is to be young, having so many interests that drive you and make up your identity. The rock n’ roll trio of ladies – Anastasia Sanchez (vocals/drums), Isabelle Fields (guitar), and Eva Chambers (bass) – met in high school and the three have been playing together ever since. They draw influences from the music they have been playing throughout their lives and from what they love, ranging from the 60s and 70s, blues, rock, punk, classical- you name it. Together they have the authenticity and verve of many young adults foraging their own way, with a little help from their friends.
After two EPs and touring (supporting the Nude Party and then the Growlers later this summer), they have developed and polished their own unique style of garage rock in their new album Turkey Dinner out now!
Their album is rooted in classic bass, drums, guitar, but it’s bolstered by the perspectives of a trio of LA youths writing about their everyday observations, anxieties and passions. For instance, “My Friend Sean” is a young fantasy about the dreamiest boy in class, “Mystery Sedan” is an LA story about a car being the only thing there in times of distress, “Lady Dancer” is about a stripper at a bikini bar in Los Feliz.
